Step 16: By clicking on “Add Hardware”, you can add additional hard disks, network adapters. In our case, we will not add any additional hardware. So cancel “Add hardware” wizard.

Step 17: Power on your vm.

Step 18: Select the language. In our case, we have chosen “English”.

Step 19: Select “Install Ubuntu Server” & press enter.

Step 20: Select “English” as language.

Step 21: Select you location.

Step 22: Configure keyboard. Select “No” on “detect keyboard layout” screen. Select English(us) in other keyboard settings as shown in screenshots.



Step 23: It is showing detecting hardware screen.

Step 24: Give hostname to your system. We are keeping it default hostname of “ubuntu”. Click on continue.

Step 25: Specify the full name of new user. In our case, we have chosen “vipin” as full user name.

Step 26: Choose some username. In our case, we have chosen “vipin”.

Step 27: Choose password & confirm password.


Step 28: If it gives weak password usage warning. Click on yes for option “Use weak password”.

Step 29: Select “No” for encrypting your home directory. We do not want to encrypt our home directory.

Step 30: It is showing clock setting screen.

Step 31: Click on yes if zone setting are correct. Since it has correctly identified our zone, so we clicked on yes.

Step 32: Choose “Guided – use entire disk and set up LVM” as partitioning method. It will automatically create partitions for you.

Step 33: Press enter here.

Step 34: Click on yes.

Step 35: How much hard disk you want to use for partitioning. Just click on continue.
